School Advisor

Fran Corcoran’s experience in the field of Education spans over 50 years. Graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology and a major in
Community Service Education, she went on to complete a year of graduate study in Education at Cornell as well. Fran taught at the high school level in New Jersey before moving to California with her husband, where they raised their two sons.
During those child-rearing years, Fran served on the Board of Directors of a Tiburon preschool and volunteered extensively at her children’s schools. As an elected localofficial for 12 years and as a private citizen, she was active in many community initiatives. She has a long history of involvement in the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, serving on the Parish Council for 28 years, including six years as President, and in the Sunday School for 20 years, where she was the Director for nine years. Before retirement she worked for almost 20 years at Marin Montessori School, a toddler to junior high school in Corte Madera. As the Director of Operations, she ensured the
efficient, safe, and reliable running of operations at the school. In that role she was able to mesh a penchant for organization and problem solving with her love of children and
education.
Fran enjoys reading and walking, and cherishes precious time spent with her four
grandchildren.
